Workshop: Susan Goldberg, Blogging

October 6th, 2009

From the “Momoir” to the “Daddy blog” and the grandparental online “brag book,” Susan will look at features of the personal electronic journal and examine the craft, issues, and ethics of writing about family online.

Susan Goldberg is a freelance writer and editor. She is coeditor of the anthology And Baby Makes More: Known Donors, Queer Parents, and Our Unexpected Families, which will be published this fall by Insomniac Press. Her poetry and creative work have been featured in publications such as Bent on Writing: Contemporary Queer Tales, Xtra!, interfaithfamily.com, and The Globe & Mail. Her radio documentary, “Finding Out,” aired on the CBC in November 2007, exploring the issue of genetic testing for women with a familial history of breast and ovarian cancer. She received the 2002 Tom Fairley Award (Editors’ Association of Canada), for her substantive work on Misinformed Consent: Thirteen Women Share Their Stories of Unnecessary Hysterectomy (Next Decade, 2003).

Susan teaches creative writing at Lakehead University and blogs at http://mamanongrata.blogspot.com.
