Workshop: Sound, Rhythm, and Prosody Deux

November 23rd, 2009

Writing captures meaning in words and preserves them across time. But writing can’t capture the sound of the words — and because much of communication is nonverbal, part of the meaning of the words can be lost.

At Part II of his workshop, “Sound, Rhythm, and Prosody,” Scott Pound further examines how writers can communicate sound through the written word.

Dr. Scott Pound is an associate professor of English at Lakehead University, where he teaches courses in poetry, literature, and writing.

Come to the Waverley Library Auditorium (285 Red River Road, Thunder Bay) on Monday, November 23 at 7 p.m.

If you missed Part I of the workshop, don’t worry — please come to Part II of this thought-provoking workshop.
