Readings 2010: Mark Your Calendars

January 26th, 2010

According to the Chinese calendar, 2010 will be the Year of the Tiger. To the UN General Assembly, it’s the Year of Biodiversity; to Saskatchewan, it’s the Year of the Métis; to techies it’s the year of many mind-boggling gadgets; to pessimists, it’s the year the world ends; to Canada, it’s the year of the Olympics; and to Hollywood, it’s The Year We Make Contact.

What will 2010 mean to you? Come share your vision for 2010 at the following readings.

Tuesday, January 26

Making resolutions is a cleansing ritual of self-assessment and repentance that demands personal honesty and, ultimately reinforces humility. Breaking them is part of the cycle. ~Eric Zorn

Tuesday, February 23

Predictions, proclamations, predicaments, and premonitions

Remember, today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.
~Dale Carnegie

Tuesday, March 23

Successes, failures, milestones, and defeats

If we did all the things we are capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves. ~Thomas Edison

All readings are held at 7 p.m. in the Fireside Room at the Brodie Resource Library, 216 Brodie Street, Thunder Bay.
